So I've started my Fashion course at Norwich University of Arts (NUA)! I'm loving it and its only been a week. I've been so inspired by everyones work and own creative styles. I was so nervous to do any work, because I was terrified to mess up and not be as good as the other guys in my group.

Then the other day Tom our lecturer was asking us about what we thought fashion was, and what it was not. and I realised I had a lot of the same ideas as many other people in the group.

Tom told us how fashion is not about trends and following whats hot, "its about you" so do what you want to, don't worry about the clothes aspect, keep in mind the more important creativity and self exploration.

He told us that mistakes are a good thing, this is something that really stayed with me. The idea that flaws are not a bad thing filled me with more confidence to explore new ideas without fear of them not working out.

try

fail

learn

repeat

Take the Post-it-note for example, this was something that was created totally by accident. Some guys where trying to invent the worlds strongest glue, totally failed and ended up with a glue that didn't really stick at all, hence the post it note was born. A product that ended up being insanely popular and used world wide.

Perfection is not obtainable, if you fail, show your failures, you never know something really cool could happen.
